Day 1 - A Rocky Start

March 23rd, 2013
Though the day got off to a rocky start - 2 hours worth of errands to run prior to starting and then 2 (very important) pieces of lumber weren't ordered - we were still able to accomplish leveling the trailer and beginning to rip down our subfloor joists. The saws are mounted and Ben and his dad are getting comfortable using them (I'm getting comfortable guiding the cut pieces of wood away from the saw) and the majority of our supplies have been delivered/picked up.

The lumber has arrived.

Windows, lumber, flooring, flashing, wool.
Ben realized that 2 boards (2"x6"x20')  for the subfloor were never ordered (something lost in modifying our plans). There was no way to start building until we had these so Ben made a trip to the hardware store to pick up some 10' boards.

This is how you haul with a Corolla

Ripping down the boards.

Okay we're ready to go!

Tomorrow's goal: Complete subfloor - anything else is just icing on the cake ; )
